    21MP CXP2 Camera with 230fps

At the heart of the EoSens21CXP2 camera of Mikrotron is Gpixel´s 21MP Gsprint 4521 CMOS sensor with global shutter. 230fps with a resolution of 5,120 x 4,096 pixels can be captured. By reducing the readout sensor area, speeds of well above 5,000fps are possible. The CoaXPress 2.0 interface with four lanes enables high data transfer rates and lowest latency. The camera has intelligent functions such as switching between 1, 2 or 4 CoaXPress channels or a controllable fan and will get a sister with similar features and 10MP resolution at 969fps next month.

Researchers Use Mikrotron CoaXPress Camera for Contactless Imaging of Large Skin Areas

Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a noninvasive optical technology with applications including vital sign extraction and patient monitoring. However, its current use is primarily limited to heart rate and oxygenation monitoring. A 2023 study by researchers at Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto, ON demonstrated the added utility of PPG for physiological investigations, in particular, of simultaneous data acquisition from several regions of tissue using remote/contactless PPG (rPPG).

Mikrotron Camera Used in Nuclear Safety Study

A nuclear plant safety study is using a Mikrotron high-speed camera to capture fuel rod vibrations. There are currently 439 nuclear reactors in operation in 32 countries around the world, including Taiwan. Nuclear energy now generates about 10% of the world’s electricity and is the second largest source of low-carbon power, producing 28% of the total in 2019. Yet nuclear power is not without its hazards as the world learned in the accidents at Fukushima, Japan (2011), Goiania, Brazil (1987), Chornobyl, Ukraine (1986), and Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania (1979).
